The Bermuda Stock Exchange saw 18,988 shares change hands yesterday, with The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closing at 2,619.06, down 26.19 points or 2.02 percent.

Bank of Bermuda shares fell 50 cents to $45.50 on a volume of 5,000 while Bank of Butterfield shares fell $1.50 to $30.50 with 6,050 shares selling.

Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. shares closed up 75 cents to $10 on a volume of 3,526 shares.
