The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange index rose yesterday by half a percent after Bank of Bermuda stock rallied.

Almost all of the trading was in Bank of Bermuda shares, which rose 40 cents to $44.50. Just 39 Bank of Butterfield shares changed hands, and the stock closed unchanged at $32.

The index closed up 12.92 points at 2,625.14 on a volume of 18,155 shares worth $807,370. No bonds traded.
