The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange index jumped 60 points yesterday after the two main banks and Argus made significant gains.

Argus stock jumped 12.4 percent or $2.75 to finish at $25, Bank of Bermuda gained $1 to finish at $48.00 and Bank of Butterfield rose 50 cents to $32.50. No other stocks changed hands.

The index closed up 2.35 percent at 2,644.03 on a volume of 14,260 stocks worth $510,687. No bonds traded.
