BSX jumps 22 points

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 22.626 points last week to close at 4,386.50 as more than $1.5 million worth of shares traded.

Butterfield Bank led the advancers, gaining 75 cents to close at $56.50 as investors traded in 21,268 shares.

Bermuda Commercial Bank rose 45 cents to close at $8 on volume of 9,250 shares. Belco was the only issue to decline this week as it fell $1.75 to close at $1.75 to close at $38 as 1,900 shares changed hands.

Devonshire Industries was unchanged at $14.95 on volume of 288 shares and KFC (Bermuda) Ltd. held at $6 on volume of 375 shares.

Argus also traded in 1,100 shares to close unchanged at $14 and BF&M traded in 12,250 shares to close unchanged at $17.50.

The total value of the shares traded on the BSX last week was $1,596,125.60 and the overall volume of shares was 46,498.
