The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 8.41 points or 0.32 percent yesterday to close at 2,612.52. A total of 14,357 shares worth $610,976 were traded.

The Bank of Bermuda was the only active stock in the banking sector, gaining 25 cents or 0.6 percent to close at $43.25 with volume of 14,100.

Island Press Holdings Ltd. gained $1.10 or 25 percent to close at $5.50 on volume of just 100 shares.

And in the utilities sector, Belco Holdings remained unchanged at 28.25 after just 20 shares were traded, and Watlington Waterworks also remained unchanged at $3 after 137 shares were traded.
