The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 31.48 points yesterday to close at 4,360.61.

Moderate activity on the Exchange saw Butterfield Bank gain $1 to close at $56 as investors traded in 1,906 shares.

The only issue to decline saw Argus lose 50 cents to close at $14 on volume of 800 shares.

Meanwhile Devonshire Industries traded in 88 shares to close unchanged at $14.95 and Belco traded in 900 shares to close unchanged at $38.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $153,300.10 and the overall volume of shares was 3,694.
