Chubb chief paid $2.24m bonus

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones/AP) ? Chubb Corp. paid chairman and chief executive John D. Finnegan a $2.24 million bonus for 2005, up from the $2.01 million bonus he got for 2004.
The Warren, New Jersey-based insurance company said in its annual proxy filed on Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it paid Finnegan a $1.26 million salary for last year, compared with a $1.2 million salary in 2004.
Chubb said that Finnegan?s compensation for 2005 also included restricted stock valued at $1.9 million, 46,602 stock options and $130,530 in other compensation.
The company, which had 2005 revenue of $14.08 billion, also said that Finnegan realised $1.59 million in value from the exercise of 56,322 options in 2005.
