Bringing with him 30 years' experience in the life insurance industry, John Kleiman has been named chief underwriting officer of Hampton Re Holdings Limited.

Hampton Re Limited, the operating subsidiary of Hampton Re Holdings Limited, is a Bermuda-based life reinsurer, which offers customised reinsurance solutions to life and annuity insurers and reinsurers.

It had received an A- (Excellent) rating from A.M. Best Company and had its rating reaffirmed by Best in January 2003.

Previously, Mr. Kleiman was a vice president with Conning & Company and also worked at Aetna Life for many years.

Prior to joining Hampton Re, he was a principal consultant in the actuarial insurance management services group of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). He was the lead actuary for most of the auditing firm's life reinsurance companies and also provided consulting services to reinsurers.

"John Kleiman, with his vast experience, knowledge and skills as an actuarial professional, further enhances Hampton Re's already outstanding senior management team, which collectively has more than 90 years of reinsurance experience," said Hank Sulikowski, Hampton Re president and chief executive officer.

Mr. Kleiman is also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
