Steinhoff to retire on June 27

The Bermuda branch of accountancy firm KPMG has announced that its Senior Partner Mr. Robert Steinhoff will officially retire on 27 June 2003.

Mr. Steinhoff began his career with the firm after completing his Bachelor of Business degree at Dalhousie University, Canada in 1968.

At that time Mr. Steinhoff joined what is today KPMG, in Montreal, where he worked for two and a half years while studying for his Chartered Accountancy designation at McGill University.

Mr. Steinhoff joined the Bermuda office in 1971 and became a partner in 1976 at the age of 29. In 1984, Robert (Bob) was promoted to Senior Partner of the firm, following the retirement of his father Russell Steinhoff.

In making the announcement Senior Partner Designate Greg Haycock noted: "Bob Steinhoff has had a long and distinguished career with our firm and we wish him every happiness in his well deserved retirement."

Commenting on his retirement Mr. Steinhoff noted: "It has been my honour and privilege to serve our clients and the community as a public chartered accountant.

"I leave with no regrets knowing that there is a strong team of outstanding professionals in place to take this successful firm forward. I have thoroughly enjoyed my 35 years with the firm and wish Greg Haycock and his team the very best."
