Trio called to the Bermuda Bar

Colm Singleton was called to the Bermuda Bar on July 23.Mr. Singleton, a Saltus Grammer School alumni, received a first class honours from Princeton university for his Bachelor in History in 1994. He spent the summer of 1995 at the Sorbonne working on his French and the following summer he studied Italian and Italian art in Rome. Singleton was the 1998 recipient of the Rhodes Scholarship. While at Oxford he studied Jurist Prudence. He then went on to study law at BPP Law School in London. After graduating he spent time backpacking around the world visiting various countries in South America, South Africa and South East Asia. Singleton is currently working in London for the Freshfields law firm. While he is there Mr. Singleton has been volunteering his time after work to Caribbean death row cases. Singleton plans to eventually return to Bermuda and said: "I am very grateful for the great opportunities Bermuda has given me".

Guy Cooper was called to the Bermuda Bar at Supreme Court recently. Mr. Cooper attended the University of Newcastle where he graduated with a Bachelor in Economics and Geography.

He went on to study at the College of Law in Guildford.

Mr. Cooper has travelled in South America and sailed from Spain to Bermuda as part of the Tall Ships 2000 programme.

Mr. Cooper is also a member of the Bermuda Regiment and has recently been promoted to the position of Lance Corporal. Mr. Cooper currently works for Conyers Dill & Pearman.

Neil Horner was the 204th man to to be called to the Bermuda Bar. He is currently working in the corporate department of Attride-Stirling & Woloniecki. Mr. Horner graduated with first class honours from Cambridge University with a Bachelor of Law and went on to receive first class honours when he completed his LL.M at Cambridge University. Mr. Horner also studied at the University of Chicago where he received another LL.M. Mr. Horner has already been admitted to the New York Bar and has worked in prestigious law firms in both London, Frankfurt and New York.
