Arch Insurance Group, a division of Bermuda-based Arch Capital Group Ltd., yesterday said Jerry Vasquez has been named to the position of managing director, offshore energy.

As part of his new role at Arch, Mr. Vasquez will be working with Lesley Harding, managing director of Arch's London office in an effort to develop Arch's worldwide offshore capabilities.

Mr. Vasquez will be based in Arch's New York office and will report to Vincent D. Liotta, senior vice president, global marine and energy.

"Arch is extremely pleased to have Jerry join our team," said Mr. Liotta. "His vast experience in his field of expertise will be a strong addition to our company."

Mr. Vasquez has more than 30 years of underwriting and management experience in the offshore energy area. Prior to joining Arch Insurance Group, Mr. Vasquez was senior vice president and managing underwriter for the American Offshore Insurance Syndicate in New York. Before that, he served as president of All American Marine Slip, where he worked for 23 years.
