young Footballers take to insurance field
Bermuda's young footballers got a `free kick' into the insurance industry yesterday, thanks to one of their sponsors. The ACE Group hosted an open house at their Global Headquarters for the Bermuda Football Association's Under-17 footballers, giving them a valuable insight into the business and related fields.
The half-day session began with an orientation, introducing the students to ACE and the international insurance industry. This was followed by a tour of the ACE Global Headquarters and the ACE Tempest Re building including demonstrations by employees from the underwriting, claims, IT, reinsurance and facilities departments. The visit concluded with a luncheon in the company cafeteria.
Ralph Richardson, Executive Director of The ACE Foundation welcomed the students to ACE Global Headquarters, saying: "The open house will serve to introduce the students to ACE and its employees, the international insurance business in general, and the career opportunities that are open to them within the industry."
ACE has supported the BFA's youth programme through The ACE Foundation for several years and the open house was part of its continuing commitment to youth football. The BFA's Director of Youth Development, Kenny Thompson, accompanied the students on their visit.
