TRUCK STOLEN CRM Truck stolen Police are appealing to anyone with information on an Isuzu truck which went missing on Wednesday.

The vehicle was stolen from Burnaby Street between 10 p.m. and 10.30 p.m., Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said.

The vehicle, described as a grey, open-back truck, bears the licence IN0512.

The Police can be contacted with information on the whereabouts of the truck by calling 295-0011.

HOTEL BURGLED CRM Hotel burgled Three visitors reported their rooms were entered after a South Shore hotel in Warwick was targeted by burglars on Tuesday night.

Watches, cameras, travellers cheques and cash were among items taken while the visitors slept, Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning reported.

In a separate incident, a thief snatched the handbag of a local resident on Woodbourne Avenue in Pembroke on Wednesday afternoon. A man on a cycle grabbed the woman's straw shopping bag as she was walking south along the road, she told Police.

The thief rode off with the bag containing a purse and other personal items, turning left onto Richmond Road.

Police are appealing to witnesses at the scene to come forward.

And early yesterday morning Police arrested a 40-year-old Devonshire man after he attempted to break into Tools & Equipment, a car parts store on North Road Hamilton.

Police answered the reported break-in at 1.30 a.m. at the store where they caught the offender red handed.

POLICE PPEAL POL Police appeal The Police issued a formal thank you yesterday to members of the public who volunteered information on a recent murder.

Police spokesman, P.c. Gary Venning said as a result of the information, officers were able to trace the movements of Brian Simmons on October 8, the day before his body was found near Pembroke dump.

Police would still like to hear from anyone who saw Brian Simmmons on Friday, October 7.

EXCAVATOR ON FIRE FIR Excavator on fire Four vehicles and eleven firefighters were called on Wednesday to put out a blaze on an excavating vehicle.

The vehicle caught fire as it was being used on Sayle Road in Smith's Parish just before 3 p.m. Damage to the digging machine was estimated to be around $30,000.

"It's believed one of the hydraulic lines broke,'' a Fire Services spokesman said.
