the jobs available and is calling a halt to applications.

That message will appear in an advertisment in The Royal Gazette on Monday, said Mr. Don Parrish, project manager for Serco Aviation Services Inc. of Canada.

Mr. Parrish said an interviewing committee has been established and interviews for Airport jobs could start next week.

Serco, which will be paid $4.4 million a year to handle Bermuda's air operations for the next five years, is seeking seven air traffic controllers, 33 firefighters, 11 ground electronic workers and ten weather people.

But Serco has received about 200 applications, mainly in air traffic control and fire, crash, and rescue.

How many Bermudians are hired now will depend on the number of qualified applicants, Mr. Parrish said. Both trainees and experienced people will be hired. In air traffic control four Bermudian trainees will be hired and trained in Canada.
