International Ltd will continue to grow in the year ahead.

This prediction was made at a meeting of investors at the Salomon Smith Barney Global Industrial Manufacturing Conference in New York by Dennis Kozlowski, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Tyco.

Mr. Kozlowski, head of Tyco, a diversified manufacturing and service company, reported that despite the slowdown in the US economy, Tyco "continues to see strong demand in each of our operating segments and that the fundamentals of our business remain excellent.'' Mr. Kozlowski added: "Tyco just completed an outstanding first quarter in terms of sales and earnings. That quarter was marked by a continuation of the strong organic growth we experienced during our last fiscal year, and exceeded Wall Street analysts consensus earnings per share estimates.'' He said that two-thirds of the way through the current quarter, he could say with confidence that the company's outlook for the quarter is positive.

"We feel comfortable with consensus earnings estimates for the second quarter and the full fiscal year.'' Mr. Kozlowski said that at the end of the first quarter, the company discussed potential uncertainty in the end markets of the electronics business, but product demand, while softening in some areas and accelerating in others, has continued to meet their forecasts for this quarter and the fiscal year.

He said: "Tyco Electronics has become a faster, more flexible supplier, able to rapidly adapt to the evolving technology needs of our current and prospective customers.''
