BA's daylight saving reminder
the British Airways flight schedule in Bermuda.
That is because Daylight Saving Time begins one week earlier in the United Kingdom than it does in Bermuda.
Bermudians set their clocks ahead one hour at 2 a.m. on April 4. But in the UK, the time change took place yesterday.
Mr. Philip Troake, British Airways local manager, said passengers should check the times on their tickets. "We are concerned that people may forget that airline schedules are affected each year by the different daylight saving times in the UK and Bermuda,'' he said.
Tomorrow, Thursday, and on Saturday, April 3, the BA flights from Bermuda will depart at the earlier time of 7.10 p.m., arriving in London at 6.55 a.m. The departure time from Gatwick in London will remain 3 p.m., but the flights will arrive in Bermuda one hour earlier, at 5.20 p.m.
The new summer schedule begins tomorrow and runs until October 23. All flights as of next week leave Bermuda at 8.10 p.m. and arrive in London at 6.55 a.m.
Flights will leave Gatwick at 3 p.m. and arrive in Bermuda at 6.20 p.m.
