Gosling's golden opportunity
few bottles of its Bermuda Gold liqueur -- from The White House, in Washington, D.C.
Officials wanted to serve the liqueur during a dinner hosted by US president George Bush and his wife Barbara, in honour of Bermuda's Premier the Hon. Sir John Swan and Lady Swan.
Despite being given just a few days notice, Gosling's was able to dispatch two litres by hand in time for the after dinner drinks.
Gosling's president Mrs. Nancy Gosling said: "Not only was it served as a drink but it was also used by the chef in the dessert.
"We are very proud to have had one of our products served on such an important occasion.'' A thank-you letter to Gosling's from the chief usher at the executive residence of The White House, Mr. Gary Walters, said: "After dinner the President's guests were quite pleased and honoured that a tradition of Bermuda was served at The White House.''
