This, and share increases in Bermuda's two big banks, helped push the Exchange Index up by 10.86 to 1,078.63.

Bank of Butterfield stock was up 50 cents to $26.50 on volume of 494 and Bank of Bermuda increased by 25 cents to $20 on 524 volume.

Remaining unchanged were Bermuda Commercial Bank, which had 2,216 shares traded at $9 each; Argus Insurance, $11.50, 4,371; BF&M, $11, 340; and Bermuda Fire & Marine Insurance, five cents, 5,690.

A total of $211,031 shares were traded for the whole of last week.

The following dividends were declared: Bank of Bermuda, 20 cents; Devonshire Industries, 50 cents; Kentucky Fried Chicken (Bermuda), 40 cents; Stevedoring Services, six cents; Argus Insurance, 12 cents; BF&M, 10 cents; BF&M nine percent preference, 22.5 cents; Belco, 25 cents; and Telco, 50 cents.
