yesterday, closing at $28.50 on a volume of 2,911, as the Exchange Index gained 6.08 to end the day at 1,165.14, halting its recent slide.
The only other shares to go up in value were those of Belco, which gained 25 cents to $20 on a volume of 500.
The highest volume was in the Bank of Bermuda, with 12,440 shares changing hands at an unchanged price of $23 each.
Bermuda Commercial Bank, which yesterday reached its highest value for several months, fell by one-eighth of a dollar to close at $97 on a volume of 4,600.
Trading unchanged were BF&M's nine percent preference stock, which closed at $12 on a volume of 5,000, and Belco's seven percent notes, whose trading was worth $2,360.
