No truth to TV security claims

International Airport last night said he was eagerly awaiting to find out if its contract had been renewed.
Bill Black, head of Island Wide Security, said he was hopeful his bids for the security contracts at both the airfield and the cruise ship terminals would be successful.
But a decision on the tenders is expected to be made during the next few weeks. Acting general manager of the airport Lester Nelson yesterday said there was no substance to claims in the television media that Guardwell Security Services, which has been recommended to be awarded the airfield contract, may be insufficiently staffed to cope with the job. He said: "No matter who the contract goes to, there are standards that must be met at the airport.''
