Some 1,500 tourists visit the Island -- Docksiders

Nearly 1,500 passengers visited Bermuda on two different cruise ships over the Easter weekend.

The Seven Seas Mariner arrived last Wednesday bringing 577 passengers. The ship arrived from Nassau and continued to Charleston when it left Bermuda last Saturday.

The Seven Seas Mariner will return to the Island this Saturday. The ship will be docked in Hamilton and departs next Monday. It will repeat its Nassau-Bermuda-Charleston route.

The Crown Odyssey brought 909 passengers to the Island from Fort Lauderdale last Saturday.

The ship stayed just one day before moving on to the Azores.

The car ship New York Highway is expected by Meyer Agencies today. The ship is carrying 114 cars and 22 cases of spare parts.

New York Highway will be arriving from Port Au Prince, Haiti. It will leave Bermuda for Nassau tomorrow.

The Bermuda Islander is due to arrive tomorrow carrying 110 dry containers and 22 refrigerated containers. There is also one boat on board in a cradle.

Bermuda Container Line reported that the Oleander arrived last Sunday carrying 146 dry containers, 27 refrigerated containers, 11 flatbeds, 31 cars and one maafi. The ship left Bermuda yesterday morning.

According to RCC Harbour Radio roughly 19 yachts have stopped in Bermuda during April. Most of these ships were sailing from the Caribbean.
