The Bermuda Stock Exchange dropped more than 56 points -- 2.31 percent -- yesterday after five stocks lost ground when $3.2 million worth of shares

Bank of Bermuda lost 75 cents or 1.5 percent to close at $50, and Bank of Butterfield closed down 4.9 percent $1.25 at $24.50. Bermuda Press, publishers of The Royal Gazette , lost 13.2 percent or $1.25 to close at $8.25.
BELCO lost $1.45 to close at $21.55, a reduction of 6.3 percent and BTC 7 3/4 Bermuda dollar bonds lost 5 cents to close at $95.50.
The only gain of the day was BF&M which gained 10 cents or 1.3 percent to close at $8.10. The index closed down 56.48 points at 2,388.15 on a volume of 81,319 shares worth $3,164,809.20 and bonds worth $17,333.25.
