The Bermuda Stock Exchange index closed up nearly one percent yesterday after both Bank of Bermuda and Bank of Butterfield saw small gains during the day.

Bank of Bermuda rose 25 cents or 0.5 percent to $50.75 and Bank of Butterfield went up 50 cents or 2 percent to $25.50.
KeyTech rose $2.45 or 6.9 percent to close at $38.00. Two other shares traded -- BELCO which closed unchanged at $23 and Argus at $18.
The index closed up 0.97 percent or 23.33 points at 2,435.98 on a volume of 13,341 shares worth 601,782.25.
