The whole (IT) package -- Bermuda Microsystems Group rebrands as a solutions provider
One of Bermuda's leading information technology companies has re-branded and is looking to work out electronic solutions for its clients.
BMS Ltd, which was set up in 1992 by company president Philip Cooper and now has over 30 staff, will now go under the name Bermuda Microsystems Group.
The company has upgraded its web site and redesigned its logo and will soon be offering online payment facilities which are expected to be up and running in the new year.
"We are known as a company that sells a good service,'' said Mr. Cooper.
"But we are more than that now.'' Mr. Cooper said the re-branding follows extensive market research and will see the company offer four main services.
The first is product and support solutions, with leading hardware and software from Dell Computer, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, Sybase, Oracle and Cisco Systems and "peace of mind to back it up''.
The company will also offer consulting services, with which they propose to optimise customer's business and system integration, networking, project management and e-commerce.
And they will offer a recruitment service where the group says it will screen, recruit and place highly skilled IT, executive and financial people.
Finally they will offer training packages from their state-of-the-art training centre in Reid Street.
"Each of these four areas combines leading edge technical and people expertise that enable our clients to compete and win in an e-world driven by complex business problems, changing needs and new technologies,'' said Mr.
Cooper.
Hoda Hassan, project manager at Bermuda Microsystems, said: "We want to be more pro-active and forward looking. We are providing a solution for clients.
We do feel we want to be partners with our customers and sort out their needs and then work on developing a solution for them.'' Mr. Cooper said: "Our clients are facing increasing challenges in all areas of IT. Those challenges involve not only purchasing and installing the right products to run their businesses, but also supporting those products, seeking consulting on broader IT issues and training staff to effectively use the products and optimise their productivity.
"Our research also identified a growing recruitment need of companies to ensure that they have the right people in the right roles in order to maximise their overall investments in technology.'' Mr. Cooper said the new web site will be used as a tool to enhance all aspects of their business.
"In the long term our web initiative will extend to reach and range of our engagement with clients, suppliers and employees. Ultimately it will help us build a next-generation business model for Bermuda Microsystems Group.'' The company said the web site will allow the company's 400 clients to track the status of orders, register for training courses, provide feedback on training, confirm warranty coverage, register job profiles and complete consulting needs assessments.
