Butterfield Bank climbed 0.7 percent in brisk trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday.The bank climbed one cent to $1.46, as 51,800 of its shares changed hands.Ascendant Group Ltd., owner of electricity company Belco, fell 3.3 percent, or 49 cents, to $14.50 as 2,000 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette / BSX Index climbed 0.48 points, or 0.04 percent to 1,249.74.
Volume was 53,800 shares and turnover was just shy of $105,000.
The Bermuda Insurance Index of the Island's leading international insurance companies also had a positive day, gaining seven points, or 0.7 percent to close the day on 1,015.
