Legislators leave for Bahamas
which begins in the Bahamas next week.
A delegation flies out from Bermuda on Sunday to take part in the 38th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference which last for nine days in Nassau.
More than 225 Parliamentarians will gather to examine ways in which they can assist new democracies both inside and outside the Commonwealth to establish effective parliamentary governments.
A spokesman said: "They will cover all facets of the democratic process from the initial entrenchment of civil and human rights through the staging of free and fair elections to the training of members and officials in duties, responsibilities and procedures of parliamentary government.'' The local delegation consists of Transport Minister the Hon. Ralph Marshall, Deouty Opposition Leader Mr. Walter Roberts, Mrs. Grace Bell MP and Clerk to the Legislature Mr. James Smith.
