Tannock called to the Bar

Tawana Tannock has been called to the Bermuda Bar after completing her pupilage in the Attorney General's Chambers.

Mrs. Tannock was formerly a M3 social studies teacher at Whitney Institute Middle School, a probation officer, Drug Court case manager and the director of the Centre for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention, prior to leaving Bermuda to study for law at the University of Bristol, Bristol, England.

She obtained a Master of Arts degree in Legal Studies, in addition to completing the Bar vocational Course at the College of Law, London, England. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Spelman College, Atlanta, Georgia.

Mrs. Tannock, who is employed as a Crown Counsel in the Department of Public Prosecutions, was called to the Bermuda Bar on September 10, 2010 and to the Bar of England and Wales, in July 2009.

She is the mother of a 12-year-old daughter Treasure.
