Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd.'s share price jumped 47.05 percent ($2.40) to $7.50 on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 400 shares during the day, while Butterfield Bank saw 20,221 common shares and 76 preference shares change hands, but both of their share values held firm.

Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. also rose 19.12 percent ($1.75) to $10.90, with 17,500 shares transacted, with Devonshire Industries Ltd. up 12.5 percent ($1) to $9 as 1,000 shares changed hands.

KeyTech Ltd. was the only decliner, falling 0.62 percent (five cents) to $7.90, with 8,174 shares traded.

Overall the Index climbed 28.46 points (1.39 percent) to 2,071.75, with 47,295 shares worth BD$345,593.60 and 76 shares worth US$94,518.67 transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, was down 5.05 points (0.52 percent) at 956.33.
