BCL drops by 10%
Bermuda Container Line Ltd. proved to be the biggest mover on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.
The shipping company dropped 10 percent ($1.40) to $12.55, with 1,000 shares traded.
Other decliners included the Ascendant Group Ltd., which fell 1.3 percent (20 cents) to $15.05, as 838 shares changed hands, and Butterfield Bank's common shares, which dipped five cents (1.3 percent) at $3.95, with 4,024 shares transacted.
Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. and Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. also traded 2,000 and 1,800 shares respectively, but both of their share prices remained unchanged.
The Index, as a whole, dropped 19.89 points (0.94 percent) to 2,094.62, with 9,662 shares worth BD$76,011.20 and 1,450 shares worth US$16,372.50 transacted.
The BSX Insurance Index, however, was up 0.54 points (0.05 percent) at 960.
