Walker appointed general manager of The Reefs Club

The Reefs Club has appointed Nagma Walker as general manager of the new residence club.

Ms Walker, who has a wide range of experience in the hospitality industry, joined The Reefs Club team from Ariel Sands Hotel and Beach Club, where she also held the post of general manager for eight years.

Prior to that she was assistant director of rooms at Elbow Beach Hotel, having worked in the hotel trade for the past 15 years, starting at the Hamilton Princess hotel and then moved on to the Marriott Hotel.

Ms Walker, who is married to a Bermudian, began her career in the medical field, but decided to try her hand at hospitality, which is where she found her passion lies.

David Dodwell, president of The Reefs, said: "Nagma brings us a great deal of management experience in the luxury hospitality industry. I can't think of anyone in Bermuda better suited to lead the way in opening The Reefs Club and welcoming our new owners when they arrive in July to vacation in their residences for the first time."

Ms Walker, who started her new role in mid-February, came on board early to become completely familiar with the hotel operation. As general manager of The Reefs Club, she will be responsible for managing the Club, its services, and 25-strong team. She will also maintain strong relationships with owners and guests to ensure a high quality of service.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to open The Reefs Club and be a part of the team from the start," Ms Walker said.
