COC economy forum is moved
The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce is moving their economics panel discussion to a larger venue due to an “overwhelming response” from the public.The event “The Economy Now and a Vision For the Future” scheduled for Wednesday has been moved from the Chamber headquarters to the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.“With the additional space we are now able to open the event up to non-members, however they will be charged a $10 fee at the door,” said Joanne MacPhee, COC executive vice president.The panel event will see some of the Island’s top business people examine the pressing issues currently facing the struggling economy and present potential solutions.The speaker line-up includes businessman Sir John Swan, social and political columnist Larry Burchall, economist and Bermuda College lecturer Craig Simmons and Butterfield Bank CEO, Brad Kopp.Co-moderators for the evening will be Chamber president, Buddy Rego and Anchor Investment Management CFO Nathan Kowalski.The event will take place from 5:30 to 7pm in the Gazebo Lounge Fairmont Hamilton Princess.
