CellOne has introduced a new add-on roaming plan, which it says offers the lowest roaming rates for travellers visiting the US.The USA 25 Roaming Plan is priced at $25 a month.Travellers roaming in the US will get access to substantially lower rates vs. the traditional pay per use option, CellOne said.“With calling rates at only $0.25/min and data at $0.25/MB, CellOne has the lowest roaming rates to the USA including their data at 50% less than their competitor, the provider added.Once the USA 25 Roaming Plan is activated, you can travel to and from the United States within that same calendar month as many times as you like. You will only be charged the flat rate once.Frank Amaral, CellOne CEO said: “Giving customers options to choose which plan suits their needs is the driving force of this new offering.“People have adapted their mobile usage when overseas as they try to minimise roaming charges. This new feature allows them to stay connected at affordable rates that in some cases are on par with local rates.”In 2011 CellOne launched its 4G HSPA+ 21 MB/s network and the provider says it remains the largest and fastest wireless network in Bermuda.CellOne’s roaming plan follows Digicel’s announcement of its USA Roaming Pass which comes with an activation fee of $20 for a 14 day prepaid subscription period and $30 for a postpaid subscription period of 30 days.It is estimated that roaming costs for Digicel customers using a USA Roaming Pass could drop by 70 to 90 percent.
