LifeThyme strengthens business with new holistic wellness centre
Despite the challenging economy, Bermuda health and fitness company LifeThyme is expanding.
The company is opening a new holistic wellness Centre on Reid Street.
Located above the iClick store, you can check out the LifeThyme Wellness Centre at their open house this Friday evening (see details below).
The company, which owns and operates the LifeThyme CrossFit training Centre on Dundonald Street, seeks to integrate mind, body and fitness.
The new Wellness Centre offers a number of healthcare options including nutritional guidance, herbal medicine and therapeutic massage.
Massage therapy starts at $70 for 30 minutes, and nutrition consultations from $115 for an hour.
“I would say that the market is growing as people are interested in becoming healthier and are taking charge of their healthcare as well their fitness,” said co-owner Anne J Marshall, a licensed massage therapist, functional diagnostic nutritionist and CrossFit coach. Ms Marshall owns the company together with Carola Cooper.
“Health and wellness seems to be a priority so they are budgeting it in. We do a lot of education as well to emphasise the importance of health, wellness and how it relates to not only feeling better and longevity but happiness.”
LifeThyme’s holistic practitioners and trainers share a vision to educate, inspire and support individuals in optimal health and well-being.
Their team offers preventive education and empowerment to help personal growth, by helping people take a more active role in their own healthcare.
They said their goal is “to create a truly unique wellness experience that will leave people feeling fit, healthy and renewed”.
LifeThyme Wellness has been offering nutrition, fitness training and rehabilitation services in Bermuda for three years.
The company most recently shared a space with Inside Out Wellness — a chiropractic and physiotherapy care centre.
But now LifeThyme has been able to expand to its own facility, offering more services to the community including:
Therapeutic Massage: Specialising in injury recovery, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy and pain management, LifeThyme’s staff has decades of massage therapy experience and work closely with physicians, physiotherapists and chiropractors in Bermuda.
Nutrition and Lifestyle Management: LifeThyme Wellness uses a holistic approach that works to seek out, identify and correct the underlying causes and conditions that lead to a person’s main health complaints. Whether it is stress, poor diet or lack of fitness, LifeThyme’s specialised services help to improve lifestyle habits and maximise health.
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition: Bridging the gap between clinical nutrition and functional medicine, FDN is a type of clinical “detective” work that seeks to identify the underlying root causes of health problems instead of just treating symptoms.
Whether clients are looking to lose weight, boost their energy levels or reduce chronic pain, LifeThyme’s nutritionist can assist in developing an individualised strategy for each person’s specific needs and health concerns.
LifeThyme’s Functional Nutritionist uses in-depth history taking as well as nutritional testing kits to help uncover the underlying causes of health issues in patients. From the results, nutrition, supplementation and lifestyle modifications are made. There is no one magic diet. It’s about fuelling your body optimally.
FDN is an emerging field can help with the following conditions: gastrointestinal disorders (IBS, colitis, diverticulitis, etc); inflammatory joint conditions (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout); depression and anxiety; weight gain; blood sugar problems; chronic colds and illness; fibromyalgia; myofascial pain syndrome; tendon and ligament injuries (tendinitis, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, frozen shoulder); headaches/migraines; ADD/ADHD; allergies, acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis; plantar fasciitis; back and neck strain/pain/impingement; ?repetitive strain injury (long computer hours, keyboard/mouse use); preventative health maintenance.
LifeThyme also offers herbal medicine,
Its FDN practitioner can blend specific herbal remedies or formulas that can be designed for each individual.
All herbal formulas are hand crafted by the herbalist herself in small batches and made with organic herbs for excellent quality and freshness. These herbal formulas add an extra quality of care to the FDN protocols.
LifeThyme CrossFit, located at 7 Dundonald Street — across from Café Ten — now offers more group exercise classes, costing from $100 to $240 a month, including at 6.15am, 7.15am, and 9.15am, noon, 4.30pm, 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
