St George’s gets a rare cruise ship visit

St George's visitor: The nearly 600-foot-long Regatta will call in at the Old Town this week

The town of St George’s will welcome a rare commodity this week when the cruise ship, Regatta, and her 700 passengers pull into port.

The liner was last in the East End back in April. She is one of just a handful of ships small enough to transit Town Cut.

Regatta is due to get into Pennos Wharf from New York at midday tomorrow for a one-night stop.

She will then sail out towards Charleston at 2pm on Friday.

Meanwhile Hamilton will host the Silver Whisper today for a two-night stopover.

The luxury liner and her 369 passengers are due to arrive at 2pm this afternoon from New York.

They will be alongside in the capital until the ship leaves on Friday afternoon.

While this Sunday marks the final visit of the year for the Norwegian Dawn.

The ship has travelled between Boston and Dockyard 22 times this year.

Finally all three container ships are back in Hamilton this week to boost stocks and supplies.

The Somers Isles arrives today from Florida and will be shifted down the dock to make way for the Bermuda Islander tomorrow.

The Oleander makes up the shipping schedule for the week, arriving on Sunday afternoon.
