Architecture’s role in Bermuda’s image

Krystal Rodrigues

The Island’s architects will tomorrow present a seminar on the profession.

The Institute of Bermuda Architects (IBA) will host a meeting to outline architecture’s key role in Bermuda’s image and highlight how the profession protects the health, welfare and safety of the public.

Krystal Rodrigues, the president of the IBA, said: “Construction projects are often the largest investment people will make in their lives and our members understand that they have a significant responsibility to meet the goals of the client and exercise the highest degree of professionalism.

“We also take pride in being part of a long history of iconic architecture that forms the public face Bermuda presents to the world.

“Anyone who has an interest in architecture or is considering taking on a construction project in Bermuda will find this talk informative and we invite all to attend.”

Topics at the seminar, part of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce lunch and learn series, will include registration, professional practice and accountability in the sector.

The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow at the Chamber’s headquarters on Point Pleasant Road in Hamilton, and will run from noon to 1.30pm.

The cost is $20 for chamber members and $40 for non-members and the price includes a sandwich lunch.

Anyone interested in attending should register at www.bermudachamber.bm on the events page.
