CedarBridge Academy’s head boy has won a $5,000 scholarship from law firm Conyers Dill & Pearman.

Jordan Simmons-Trott, who will go to Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada, to study English Literature in the autumn, won the company’s Leadership Scholarship Award.

Lisa Spencer-Arscott, head of human resources at CD&P, said: “Jordan’s achievements in the classroom and in various leadership activities have brought him this honour.

“The legacy that he leaves at CedarBridge is apparent.

“We are confident he will contribute to the Mount Allison community and continue his academic and leadership development in an outstanding manner. He has a very bright future ahead of him.”

Mr Simmons-Trott, 18, was one of the top ten students in his year, achieving top marks in A-Level English, Economic Geography, Concert Band and Biology IV.

The talented musician, who conducts the school band, has also played as a representative of the school band at Disney World in Florida.

In addition, he acted as a student mentor, tutoring students to help them improve their academic performance and also volunteers for a number of causes and events across the island.
