A US company that provides consumers with an alternative energy drink is now using a local distribution company to sell its product in Bermuda.

Florida-based Kona Gold Solutions was founded in 2016 to provide consumers with an energy drink claimed to be a healthier alternative to what is already on the market.

It is now using Tucker Corporation, a Southampton-based drinks supplier, as its Bermuda distributor.

Edward Tucker, sole owner and manager of Tucker Corporation, started the business 25 years ago. He said: “I was hunting around for hemp beverages as I read about it and know the benefits.

“I came across Kona Gold Solutions as I saw the healthy alternative energy drink product.

“I spoke with Robert Clark [chief executive officer of Kona Gold Solutions] and told him I am a local distributor that has been in business for 25 years.

“Once I tasted the samples he sent me I agreed to do business with him as I am trying to develop a long-term provider to have a decent hemp energy drink.”

Mr Clark said: “We’ve created an energy drink that not only tastes amazing, but by adding organic hemp seed protein powder, we are providing consumers with a healthy ingredient that contains all 21 amino acids, Omega 3,6, and 9, and other vitamins and nutrients.”

He mentioned that organic hemp seed is proving popular in health nutrition stores in the US due to its proven health benefits.
