Business seminar on managing millennials
A workshop to help companies successfully manage millennials among their staff is being held next month.
Millennials are now the largest demographic in the workforce and are playing an increasingly important role within successful businesses.
Jan Fraser Business Training is holding a special half-day seminar on June 12 to help managers and supervisors gain a firmer understanding of this generation and learn about specific actions they can take to work more effectively with them.
Ms Fraser said: “Millennials differ significantly from earlier generations. Their work habits and motivations are not the same, and you need to understand and adapt your managing style accordingly.
“Millennials are the most connected generation in history and if they are not being managed well, they will network right out of their current workplace into something which, for them, is more suitable”.
Ms Fraser said millennials have a greater sense of immediacy than earlier generations.
“They are constantly being stimulated by things they see on social media and are eager for new experiences themselves. So generally they are motivated more by short-term goals. Plus they don’t fear change.
“These and many other topics as relating to millennials, such as money, recognition, technology and social media, will all be covered in the workshop. Companies that are able to successfully manage millennials are sure to be more successful over time.”
