Shares of Butterfield Bank improved by $3, or 7.9 per cent, to $41 after 3,300 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The bank’s shares fell by 24 cents, or 0.58 per cent, to $41.33 on the New York Stock Exchange.

On the local exchange, a total of 1,300 shares of Argus Group Holdings were also exchanged, but with no change to the closing price of $3.87.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 134.93 points, or 6.89 per cent, at 2,425.64, while the BSX Insurance Index was up 17.53 points or 1.17 per cent, to 1,515.76.
