CD&P staff dig deep in their pockets to help local charities
Law firm staff members have donated more than $11,000 to charities and community initiatives.Conyers Dill & Pearman staff dug into their own pockets to spread a bit of holiday cheer in time for Christmas.Conyers donated to the Aerie Foundation in support of the Senior's programme, which provides support to seniors, their care givers, and families, by providing various services on a not-for-profit basis. The Foundation employs trained aides, who go into seniors' homes and ensure they are cared for and their daily needs are met, which in some cases allows individuals to stay in their own homes and maintain their independence.The Summerhaven Trust also received a donation from Conyers to assist with an extensive renovation project to improve and update the residents' living quarters and facilities. Summerhaven is a residential facility catering to people living with disabilities.Meanwhile, much of the financial burden for attending the Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC ) was relieved for Warwick Academy student Michael Cabot. The GYLC is a leadership development programme for high-achieving students from around the world, which takes place in June 2010 in China over ten days.Conyers also made donations to the Vernon Temple AME Church's After School Programme; the Bermuda Education Assistance Trust, which assists special needs children with schooling and extra curricular developmental activities; the Salvation Army and the SPCA.
