BIFF screens 'Perfect Son'
The Bermuda International Film Festival (BIFF) is screening 'The Perfect Son' in the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute auditorium tomorrow night, beginning at 7.30 p.m.
The Canadian film, by award-winning writer/director Leonard Farlinger, explores the relationship between two brothers. The older of the two, 'the perfect son,' is an over-achiever and an accomplished professional. The younger brother, finding it hard to live up to his brother's successes, has avoided the family for years. When their father dies, the brothers come together to deal with the details of the will, but everything is not as it seems when the older sibling is found to have AIDS. As time quickly comes to an end, an intimate and unexpectedly humorous bond develops between the brothers.
The lead roles played by two of Canada's leading actors, Colm Feore and David Cubitt, and Mr. Farlinger has won numerous awards for his short films.
'The Perfect Son' will be preceded by the short film, 'Rosebud,' directed by Neil Leifer, whose short film, 'Scout's Honour,' was featured at last year's Bermuda International Film Festival.
Tickets ($8 for non-members, $5 for BIFF members) can be reserved by e-mailing BIFF at bdafilmibl.cm, and picked up at BUEI from 6.30 p.m.
