The Quincentennial Committee released the calendar of events this week but only three of the listings are new.

All of the events listed are regular annual events on the Bermuda calendar apart from the issuance of a commemorative stamp series, the minting of a commemorative coin and a special New Year?s Eve function.

Committee member Nea Talbot admitted that most of the events are annual fixtures but said that they will use a theme of the birthday.

In a Press release, committee co-chairman Kenneth Dill said that organisers of already existing events were ?all too pleased? to incorporate Bermuda?s 500th anniversary celebrations into their activities and he thanked them for their participation, saying they understood the significance and importance of the Quincentennial.
