Stefan claims BZS top photo prize

Dr. Stefan Walther has walked away with the top prize in the Bermuda Zoological Society's (BZS) "Naturally, Bermuda! " photo contest. His `Habitat' entry was judged Best in Show, while Lauren Leggatt's `Snail' was the reserve in this category.

Species Interaction, Underwater Nature (two categories): Lisa Patterson.

The winners will receive their awards during a special reception at the Bermuda Society of Arts main gallery in City Hall tomorrow from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

"We are extremely grateful to our sponsors and partners in this competition," said BZS marketing coordinator Nicola Lucas. "The entries we received were of a very high standard, and the judges had a very hard decision to choose the winners in each category."

Sixty entrants submitted more than 250 photos to the contest, which ran from March through June this year.

Everyone who entered will have their work displayed in the BSoA's Edinburgh Gallery at City Hall from tomorrow through September 13. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday and admission is free.
