The Royal Naval Dockyard will be the scene of a heritage-inspired `Food Tasters' fair on May 28 which concludes Heritage Month and will also be a finale to the Island's Earth Day celebrations.

The Food Tasters fair, which will be similar to the international food festivals held last year, will focus on the variety of cuisines available in Bermuda, especially from the ethnic and national associations.

It will also give particular exposure to Bermudian dishes at as many of the dozen food stalls as possible.

A West End Development Corporation spokesperson said the event, which will be held on the Clock Tower Parade lawns under the shade of tents, will also feature Black Box Productions, open air show Mystical Island and other live entertainment.

Included among the food stall participants will be the West Indian Association, Loyalty Inn, the Jamaican Grill, Carmen's Catering, the Fishermen's Association, the Lighthouse Tea Room, Woody's Drive Inn in St.

David's, Yardies Kitchen and the Bee Keepers Association.

"The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute will also be demonstrating the kind of displays they have in mind for their $10 million East Broadway project due to open in two years time,'' the spokesperson added.
