The show, featuring the music of several local groups, took place at the Clay House Inn as a tribute to Ms Deborah Robinson, a well known local musician who died last year.

The 32-year-old's body was found in the water off North Shore behind Grace Methodist Church in Pembroke last July. How the body ended up in the water will be determined through a coroner's inquest.

Show organiser Mrs. Mary Hill said she did not want the public to assume Ms Robinson's death was in any way connected with drugs.

"She contributed a lot to the Island musically,'' said Mrs. Hill. "She was very well liked and this was our way of showing our appreciation.

"We brought back old groups such as Formula 3, Formula of Love, Young Ambassadors and Stevie Darrell, Lolly Darrell, Junior C and the comedian Bootsie performed.'' Rochelle Simons, a local singer now living in Atlanta also entertained the sell-out crowd, along with dancers Denique amd Renee.

Narrator for the evening was Shadow Education Minister Miss Jennifer Smith while "Big Daddy'' Gates served as master of ceremonies.

The Fairhaven centre for women, to be located at 60 Victoria Street, is expected to be opened in May.
