A 28-year-old man was fined $2,000 for delivering a bouquet of flowers.

Colston Jacob Mackenzie brought the flowers to the front desk of a Hamilton office on Friday the 13th and asked for them to be given to a young woman he knew in the building.

Unfortunately for Mackenzie there was a Domestic Violence Protection order in place and he has been told to stay away from the young woman. Delivering flowers breached the no contact stipulation of this order.

He told the court that originally purchased the flowers for some other girl but couldn’t locate her so he decided to give them to the woman in question.

He was charged and plead guilty to breaching the order at Magistrates’ Court yesterday. Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined him $2,000 for the breach.
