Condolence book for Holbrooke

A condolence book for the late ambassador Richard Holbrooke will be available for signing at the US Consulate for those who wish to pass on their condolences.

Mr Holbrooke, the US Special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, died on Monday following surgery for a tear in his aorta. He was 69-years-old.

He had been praised for engineering the end of the Bosnia war, the bloodiest conflict in Europe since World War II.

The condolence book is available at the Consulate's guard facility on Middle Road during normal business hours. Condolences can also be sent electronically to holbrookecondolences[AT]state.gov, or faxed to (202) 647-4142.
