Football team to host Adopt a Granny Christmas Campaign tonight

A Warwick football team has decided to give back this Christmas season with a donation to the Lorraine Rest Home.PHC came up with the idea of hosting an Adopt a Granny Christmas Campaign and asked a dozen of its youth football teams to participate.Executive member O’Shandah Ming said children will be delivering the packages to seniors tonight as part of PHCs second annual community Christmas caroling programme.A train will leave T N Tatem Middle School at 7pm stopping off at as many houses as possible in the area so the children can sing carols and bring holiday cheer.Ms Ming said it’s still not too late to donate many seniors are in need of basic supplies like nighties, pajamas, stockings, socks and toiletries.“Many people may already know that a number of our seniors unfortunately either do not have a family to support them throughout the year and/or sometimes have families who often find it difficult to defray all the costs related to elder care,” she said.“In addition, many of the individuals at Lorraine Rest Home have not only been very active in the Warwick community but also have contributed to our wider success as a Country.“With this in mind we have asked each of the 12 PHC Youth Football teams to participate in Operation AGCC [also known as] Adopt a Granny Christmas Campaign.“However, we are now hoping that it can expand to the entire Warwick community and throughout the Island. We hope that together as a PHC family we can give back to our seniors and our community.”Anyone who would like to donate can send an e-mail to Ms Ming: shandy[AT]northrock.bm.
