Some city streets to close for road races

Parts of the City of Hamilton will be closed to traffic today.The restrictions are in place for the KPMG Invitational Mile run as well as performances by the Bermuda Regiment Band and the Bermuda Islands Pipe Band.Front Street will be closed to traffic from 6pm to 10pm. The stretch between Queen Street and Parliament Street, as well as the stretch of Burnaby Street between Reid Street and Front Street will be affected.Front Street will also be off limits to all vehicles between the foot of Spurling Hill and Parliament Street, from 6.30pm to 10pm.There will be no parking allowed after 4pm along Front Street between Spurling Hill and Queen Street, and Burnaby Street between Reid Street and Front Street.Patrons of businesses along Front Street East have been asked to move all vehicles from that area by 6pm.The Number Five car park is also closed to parking all day today.Police have advised that further restrictions may be added.
