Police recruits host charity car washes on Saturday

Student police officers are hosting two charity car washes in an effort to raise funds for the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.A police spokesman said: “Every Recruit Foundation Course raises money for a charity of their choice, and this year the student officers have chosen the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.”This Saturday, the recruits will be washing cars and bikes at the Paget Shell Service Station at the junction of Middle Road and Valley Road, and next Saturday a second car wash will be held at the Crawl Hill Esso Service Station. Both car washes will take place between 9am and 2pm, with cars being washed and dried for $20, while motorcycles and auxiliary cycles will be cleaned for $10.All of the raised funds will be donated at a cheque presentation during the Recruit Foundation Course #73 Passing Out Parade on February 24.
